I had the opportunity to see an early screening of the Blue Beetle movie, and I was very impressed. The film is a lot of fun, and it does a great job of balancing humor and action. Xolo Maridueña is perfect as Jaime Reyes, and he brings a lot of heart and charisma to the role. The supporting cast is also excellent, and they all give great performances.
If you’re a fan of superhero movies, or if you’re just looking for a fun and action-packed film to watch, I highly recommend checking out Blue Beetle when it is released in theaters on August 18, 2023.

- Xolo Maridueña is a great casting choice for Jaime Reyes. He brings a lot of charisma and likability to the role, and he is believable as a teenager who is suddenly thrust into the role of a superhero.
- The film is funny and action-packed. There are some really funny moments in the film, but there is also plenty of action to keep you entertained.
- The supporting cast is excellent. Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Trujillo, and Susan Sarandon all give great performances.
- The film is visually stunning. The special effects are top-notch, and the film looks great on the big screen.
Here are some of the things that I didn’t like about the Blue Beetle movie 2023:
- The film is a bit predictable. There are some twists and turns, but for the most part, the film is pretty easy to figure out.
- The film is a bit slow in the first act. It takes a while for the film to get going, and it can be a bit of a slog at times.
- The film’s villain, Carapax the Indestructible, is not very memorable. He is a bit one-dimensional, and he doesn’t really pose much of a threat to Jaime.
Overall, you will really enjoy the Blue Beetle movie. It is a fun, action-packed superhero film with a great cast. I highly recommend checking it out when it is released in theaters on August 18, 2023.
